Kerry Child grew up in the United Church of Canada, specifically Gilmore Park United Church where she was a participant in the children and youth programs throughout her childhood. In her late teens, Kerry began her ministry journey and served churches in Vancouver and Richmond before returning to Gilmore Park as the Congregational Life Minister for All Ages from 2003-2009.
Soon after this Kerry completed a degree in Child and Youth Counselling through Douglas College and became a Recognized Designated Lay Minister within the United Church of Canada. She went on to serve Northwood United Church in Surrey for 8.5 years. In January 2018, Kerry rejoined the new Gilmore Park team as the Family and Community Minister.
In addition to serving the church locally, Kerry has represented the United Church of Canada globally through mission work in Curacao and Ecuador and the 2006 World Council of Churches Assembly in Brazil.
Outside of the church, Kerry volunteers at the Langley Hospice Society and spends lots of time in the garden. Kerry and her daughter live in Clayton Heights.
