REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY WAS A DAY OF PRAYER

A "Warbowl" made of melted plastic soldiers was placed on the communion table and we filled it with people's individual  prayers of peace, instead of reasons for war.

Here are those prayers for Peace, from November 10, 2013

I hope that people don’t make another war only over disagreement.  I hope they find a different way to agree.

Peace for all living things.  That we respect life and always show compassion.

Lord help me to bring peace to myself, others, and my vision for the world.

In you, Holy One, we live and breathe and have our being.  May we realize that each one of us, and all of your creation is sacred.  May we live within your heart of compassion for all life.

Peace.

I pray for us all to build relationships and understanding with one another. In this we can decrease fear, distrust, misunderstanding and the power leading to war.

Peace!  Peace!  Peace!

 Peace in Syria.

World peace in our time.

God bless the families of the fallen.   May they feel our gratitude for freedom.

And now may the grace of our Lord be with us, and the fellowship and the communion of the Holy Spirit.  Now, faith to save us all from Satan’s power when we have gone astray. Tidings of comfort and joy.  Remember me.  Thanks be to God. I love Jesus.

I wish my mother-in-law health and full recovery!

We remember you all.  May you rest in peace.

Dad, thank you once for fighting for our country, Canada

May you rest in peace.

Peace be with us all.

Dear God,We thank you for the great world you have created.  I give thanks especially today for all those who sacrificed themselves for the benefit of us and our country.

I pray that families and nations find ways to get along without violent struggles – helping and understanding each other.

Peace for school children being bullied.

Prayers for the countries at war, like Syria, Pakistan and the people who suffer.

Prayers for the people of the Phillipines, for the continuous battle of poverty, calamity, devastation and the fight against corruption of government officials.

We pray for peace and understanding for all people on earth.

We think of war as
back then, over there, not here, not now, not close.
But there are wars and there are wars here and now.
The war against women
against the poor and disenfranchised.
So, to pray for enlightenment and the strength to act for others.
This is my prayer.

We pray for peace for the whole world.

We give thanks for those who have fought for us.

Pray for Canada and South Korea.  Thanks God!  Thanks to Canada!
Korea is not finished the war yet.

I pray for peace in the world. For peace for the children, youth, and young people.

So it be.  Please bring peace to us all.  No more young people having to be sent away from their homes to fight others.

Peace for all the world!Especially the Middle East, where war has been around forever! May there be more love, peace, understanding each other –God grant us these wishes.

Peace.
Stillness without thought, without vigilance.
Blessed emptiness.
Strength without tension,
embracing resistance, challenge, and change.
Blessed substance.

A prayer for justice.  A prayer for those who were in the service who returned badly wounded and are unable to work again because of their injuries.  May they receive the full compensation that they deserve.

That all children may be able to play.

Lest we forget!

I pray that all peoples of the earth put down their weapons and join hands as one under the love of Christ, for God is one.

Prayer for all the families in war.

I pray for an end to all wars; for love and understanding among people, countries and throughout the world.

Pray for the wives and families.  Pray for no more killing.  Think about all the men who died.

We pray for wars to end, for the brave young men who offer their lives to make a better world.

Please Lord, grant us the wisdom and the will to live in peace and harmony with our neighbours everywhere in the world.

God, we pray for peace.  Help us to do away with racism and discrimination so we may all live in peace.

Pray for peace through all war torn countries; for compassion, caring, understanding; for the teaching of young children, and education for all.

I pray that conflict between people over their individual beliefs and religions ends!  Everyone has the right to their own beliefs – let there be peace and understanding amongst us.

Dear God,   Protect us all   Love us all

Thanks to all who fought for our freedom and continue to do so around the world.  May we always respect and love one another.

 Peace in our hearts!

 God,

We pray that you help to show us the ways and means to settle our human and national differences – without physical conflict and engagement.

Peace for the nations.

May we learn to understand each others’ differences.

A prayer for returned veterans who have to pick up their lives again after the horrors of war.  Give them counsel, jobs and our respect for their efforts.

Lord,  Grant those in power never to be misguided and go to war.

Peace for everyone now and forever.

Prince of Peace I pray for all the soldiers affected by post traumatic stress syndrome today.  Help our government to care for them and their families, financially and mentally.  I also pray for peace and justice in Syria and many other parts of the world.  In the name of Jesus.

Peace on earth.

I pray that one day there will be an entire generation of children globally for whom the concept of war, oppression. and loss is abstract only, something that has never and will never touch their lives.

I pray for all those soldiers who are suffering from PTSD caused by war and also for peace for our world.

Thank you for giving us peace.

Peace for all.

Amen
