I’m a prairie girl living on the west coast – or a Richmond girl from the prairie. Although my first degree is in Economics, my first career was in writing – mostly as a science and medical writer and policy analyst. I was sent off to Vancouver School of Theology when I asked too many questions at Bible Study, and loved the opportunity to ask as many questions as I liked. I met my husband, Iain, at church in Edmonton, and our kids describe us as a super-geek family – because we love all things sci-fi and spend most of our spare time at weird theatre. We spend nice days kayaking on the Fraser River. I’m fascinated by the ways popular culture retells the religious and mythological stories. My most profound experiences of God have happened on retreats, in theatres and while working on Vancouver’s downtown east side, where the ex-cons had read more of the Bible than me.
